A K-9 officer at the Marion County Sheriff’s Office is into the Elite 8 and needs your votes to become the “Top Dog” among sheriff’s offices across the state.
This week, Rex is facing off against Tank, who works for the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office. There are only four head-to-head matchups among the 8 dogs left in the competition.
As of this weekend, Rex is neck and neck with Tank, with both dogs sharing nearly identical vote totals.
Rex sailed through the first two rounds of the competition. During the round of 16, Rex edged out K-9 officer Dottie, who works for the Miami-Dade Police Department.
The round before that, Rex beat out Highway, a canine officer for the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office in northwest Florida.
To vote for Rex, visit the K-9 March Madness webpage and click on the check mark over his photo. Voting is open through Thursday, April 4 at 3 p.m. EST for the competition.
