A home in Ocala that belonged to the president of one of the largest sunglasses companies in the world was just sold for $6.4 million.

Located at 8767 NW 31st Lane Road in the Golden Ocala Golf & Equestrian Club, the .66-acre lot sold for $6.4 million on March 15, according to Marion County Property Records.

According to records, the property was purchased by Michael and Tammy Dalton for $349,700 in 2020. Permits were issued in March 2021 and the home, as well as a pool and spa, were all complete by the end of 2022.

Mr. Dalton is the President and Chief Operating Officer of Maui Jim, a sunglasses company that got its start nearly 50 years ago in Hawaii.

The property features a 4,544-square-foot, 4-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom home that sits on the 13th hole of the golf course, which is a replica of the famous 17th hole at Saint Andrews Links.

The primary living space boasts tall ceilings with beams, a fireplace, and built-in shelving with lighting, as well as a wall designed for wine display.

In February, a 23.57-acre property built by the founders of the World Equestrian Center sold for over $4 million. Located along “Millionaire’s Row,” the property was developed in 1998 by the Roberts Development Corporation, which was founded by the late Ralph L. “Larry” Roberts, Sr.
