Semi-truck rollover slows traffic on I-75 in Marion County

Motorists traveling on Interstate 75 in Marion County can expect delays after a semi-truck rolled over near mile marker 370 on Tuesday afternoon.

Shortly after 3:10 p.m., Marion County Fire Rescue units were dispatched to I-75 in reference to a semi-truck crash with rollover. Multiple citizens had called 911 to report that the vehicle had overturned on the inside lane, blocking the north and southbound sides, according to MCFR.

The semi-truck was carrying Sheetrock at the time of the crash.

MCFR crews from Orange Lake Station #9 arrived on scene in less than 10 minutes, and they immediately checked on the driver of the semi-truck. The unidentified driver was not injured and refused any further medical treatment.

Due to debris on the interstate near mile marker 370, along with a diesel spill in the area, the inside lanes on the north and southbound side of I-75 will be closed until cleanup can be completed.

Motorists are encouraged to avoid this area.

The cause of the crash is currently being investigated by the Florida Highway Patrol.
