Students sought for Florida campus tours hosted by Ocala

There are still spots available in a new city-led program that allows college-bound students between the ages of 14 and 18 in the Ocala area to tour colleges and universities in Florida.

Tours will begin next month and are hosted by the Ocala Recreation and Parks Department. The cost to attend each tour is $25 per person, per trip.

During each tour, teens will visit several colleges and universities while also experiencing the culture of each location.

Buses will leave from the Mary Sue Rich Community Center at Reed Place, located at 1821 NW 21st Avenue in Ocala, at 7 a.m. and will return at approximately 8 p.m.

The tour kicks off next month in Tallahassee on Monday, April 15, with stops at Florida A&M University and Tallahassee Community College. It continues on April 17 in Jacksonville with stops at Jacksonville University and the University of North Florida.

On April 19, the tour will visit Bethune Cookman and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach.
