A new food truck that specializes in seafood sandwiches and Puerto Rican appetizers has just opened for business and is regularly selling out of the Ocala Food Trucks village in Marion Oaks.
The Sandwich on Fire celebrated its grand opening in January and now operates out of the food truck village, which is located at 2655 SW Hwy 484 in Marion Oaks.
As its name suggests, Sandwich on Fire serves up sandwiches that feature a variety of meat and seafood options, as well as Puerto Rican spice and seasoning.
Some of the featured sandwiches include pastrami, roasted pork, steak, tripe, and even octopus.
In addition to the sandwiches, the food truck serves up a collection of classic Puerto Rican dishes, including acapurrias (fritters), tostones (fried plantains), mofongo (mashed plantains), and empanadas (fried turnovers).
Sandwich on Fire is open Wednesday through Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. For more information, follow the truck on Facebook or call 407-807-8477.
The food truck is one of over two dozen that make up the Ocala Food Trucks, a new site for food vendors that opened in Marion Oaks earlier this year.
