UPDATE – This horse has been reunited with its owner, according to a statement issued by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is looking for the owner of a horse that wandered into a parking lot in southwest Ocala early this morning.
According to the sheriff’s office, an Ocala Police Department officer was writing a report in the parking lot of Ollie’s Bargain Outlet, which is located at 3101 SW 34th Avenue, when a large black horse decided to pay a surprise visit.
Several OPD officers chased the horse, and they managed to corral the animal in the College of Central Florida parking lot on SW Highway 200.
The MCSO Agricultural Unit soon responded and took custody of the horse.
If you are the owner of the horse, or if you have any information that can help locate the owner, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office asks that you contact Sergeant Timothy Ogletree at 352-816-0623.
