A lost horse who was wandering along SR 200 in Ocala early this morning has been reunited with its owner.
Early Sunday morning, an Ocala Police Department officer spotted the horse while he was writing a report at the Ollie’s Bargain Outlet in the Shoppes at Paddock Park.
According to the sheriff’s office, several officers began chasing the horse down SW Highway 200.
The department released a video on Sunday morning showing dashcam footage from one of the police cruisers involved in the pursuit of the horse.
According to OPD, several officers chased the horse and managed to corral the animal into the parking lot at the College of Central Florida (3001 SW College Rd).
The MCSO Agricultural Unit soon responded and took custody of the horse.
Just after noon on Sunday, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office announced that the horse had been reunited with its owner.
“The owner was identified and the horse has been reunited. Thank you for sharing,” reads a statement issued by MCSO through social media.
