Marion County Animal Services is asking the public to come out and walk some shelter dogs this weekend at Silver Springs State Park.
The organization will host a Pack Walk on Sunday, March 24, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Participants will get to interact with shelter dogs while taking them on a staff-led walk around Silver Springs State Park, which is located at 5656 E Silver Springs Boulevard in Silver Springs.
“All of the dogs are in need of a loving home, so if you’ve been considering adoption but haven’t yet made it to our shelter, this event may be for you,” reads a social media post from the organization.
The walk will consist of several loops through the park, so members of the community can stop by any time between 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. to say “hello” to the shelter dogs and accompany them on a walk.
The cost to join the event is the $2 park entry fee, and no preregistration is required.
At the conclusion of the Pack Walk, event participants will be able to stay in the park until 5:30 p.m.
