Registration is now open for the March installment of Marion County’s kayaking program, Kayak & Koffee, and the event will take paddlers to the Silver River.
On Friday, March 8, participants will meet at Brick City Adventure Park (1211 SE 22nd Road in Ocala) at 7:45 a.m. for coffee and light refreshments. Marion County Parks and Recreation Department staff will then provide transportation to the launch site at Silver Springs State Park.
“We are excited about this trip because it is an expertly preserved park and the paddle is entirely downriver which will make it relaxing and leisurely,” stated the parks and recreation department on social media.Â
Participants will enjoy this outing the most if they know basic paddling concepts and how to swim, according to parks and recreation staff.
The event is open to adults (ages 18 and up). There is a $50 fee per person, and all equipment, travel, entrance fees, coffee, and refreshments are included in this paddle outing.
