Marion County has issued another precautionary boil water notice for customers in three separate communities as crews work to repair a water main.
On Wednesday, March 27, Marion County Utilities issued a precautionary boil water notice for customers within the communities of Fore Acres, Hillside Acres, and Courtney Acres. All three communities are located within Ocala.
According to county officials, the boil water notice is in response to a water main repair. A similar notice was issued for these same communities this past weekend, and it was lifted on Monday, March 25, following the satisfactory completion of a bacteriological survey.
Customers in these communities are advised to bring water intended for consumption to a rapid boil for at least one minute until the current notice is lifted.
Any water that is being used for laundry, bathing, and showering does not need to be boiled, according to the county.
Marion County Utilities says that it will notify customers once the notice has been lifted after the water has been proven safe to drink per the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s guidelines.
The county will notify customers via emails, interactive community calls, media release, and/or social media.
