Applications are now open for local visual artists who are interested in painting double-sided metal street panels during the 2024 Levitt AMP Ocala Music Series.
Artists whose designs are accepted must be able to paint during the Friday concert series, which will take place at Webb Field at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Recreation Complex (1510 NW 4th Street in Ocala) over a ten-week period, beginning on March 15, 2024.
Participating artists will paint double-sided metal panels (8-feet tall by 4-feet wide) live during the event, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. According to the city, artists will choose their number of appearances during the concert series.
This opportunity is open to artists currently working and residing in Marion County, as well as the surrounding North Central Florida area including Alachua, Citrus, Flagler, Lake, Levy, Orange, Putnam, Sumter, and Volusia counties.
There is no cost to apply. All designs will be approved prior to the start of the 2024 Levitt AMP Ocala Music Series to ensure that the artwork is family-friendly, non-political, and without copyright infringement.
Accepted artists or art groups will receive a $250 honorarium after the concert series.
Applications are available online. Entries can be submitted via email to artinfo@ocalafl.gov, or they can be mailed to the City of Ocala Cultural Arts, 201 SE 3rd Street, 2nd Floor, Ocala, FL 34471.
All entries must be received by no later than 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, February 18, 2024.
After the 2024 Levitt AMP Ocala Music Series, the newly painted panels will replace the current panels located at the Ocala Skate Park in celebration of the next phase of the Skate Park construction.
