During its first month at its new brick-and-mortar location in Ocala, Big Lee’s BBQ has seen visitors from all over the world, including Germany and France.
The restaurant officially opened for business during the first week of July and added new signage last week to its building, which is located at at 2611 SW 19th Avenue Road.
Owned and operated by Rashad Jones, who claimed a victory over Food Network’s Bobby Flay on the same day as the restaurant’s opening, Big Lee’s BBQ has been a staple in Ocala for several years through Jones’ food truck.
The location previously housed Big City Grill Co. and has been completely renovated and redecorated from top to bottom with quotes, memorabilia, and murals that illustrate Jones’ life and success.
Despite its new digs, the restaurant still cooks up its classic sandwiches and plates, which feature smoke meats including sausage, brisket, pulled pork, and ribs.
In addition to the meats, the restaurant serves a bevy of classic sides like baked beans, coleslaw, and mac and cheese, to name a few.
