A sewing and bag-making company with a strong online presence is opening its first brick-and-mortar location in Marion County this week.
Sew Yours will celebrate its grand opening on Tuesday, April 2, at 19120 E Pennsylvania Avenue in Dunnellon, within the River Oaks shopping plaza.
The business sells a variety of bag hardware, zippers, and other sewing supplies related to bag making.
Additionally, Sew Yours features a selection of digital sewing patterns and sewing tutorial videos for bag making.
The company is owned by self-taught sewist Melissa Sniderhan and is a collaborative effort with her husband and the store’s retail manager, Hannah P., who Sniderhan says is instrumental to the operation.
The group has been working to build out their new location in Dunnellon, which is their first brick-and-mortar.
In a video posted to the company’s YouTube channel, Sniderhan provides a tour of the new location and details on its many offerings. She says the store offers the “most beautiful cutting table” of any fabric shop around, citing the table’s crafter in the process (her husband). Watch her video tour below:
Although the shop may be new, Sniderhan has been designing handbag patterns and refining her craft for over two decades, selling her products online through the company’s website.
After a pattern is purchased, a customer may access the pattern by downloading it from an email or directly through the website.
In addition to catering to bag makers, Sniderhan says the store will also feature a collection of items for the quilting community, including books, patterns, and various fabrics.
Sew Yours will be open Tuesday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
