New pizza window serving slices in downtown Ocala

A new business selling pizza by the slice and other snacks has opened a window in downtown Ocala.

SLICE! has officially opened for business at 35 SE 1st Avenue, in a window that is adjacent to Cantina Tex Mex & Tequila.

The fast service window sells pizza by the slice, is golf cart accessible, and is open until 2:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. On Tuesday through Thursday, the business is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and it has slightly reduced hours (11 a.m. to 9 p.m.) on Sunday. The business is closed on Monday.

The menu at SLICE! is basic and features three jumbo slice options: Cheese for $6, Pepperoni for $7, and Meat Lovers for $7. For those looking for other options, the menu also features garlic knots, mozzarella sticks, cheese and pepperoni calzones, and Italian sausage.

In addition to the traditional Italian options, the window will also offer express options from its sister company, Cantina. Those options include beef and chicken craft tacos, chicken flautas, chips and queso, and a Doritos bagged taco.

The window will also offer bagged margaritas until 2 a.m., as well as coke products and desserts.

A lunch special of $7 for a slice and a drink is featured Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to the company.

SLICE! adds to a list of openings and closings in downtown Ocala over the past year.

That includes new locations for The Gathering Cafe, Soleil Bakery & Social House, Grandpa Joe’s Candy, and District Bar and Kitchen, which opened earlier this summer in the former location of Pi on Broadway.

Amongst the closures downtown is The Keep Downtown, which closed its doors after more than two decades in business, and Katya Vineyards, which has been temporarily closed due to renovations.
