A full-service entertainment venue in Ocala featuring live music, upscale food, and craft cocktails is celebrating its grand opening this week.
District Bar and Kitchen, which is located at 110 SW Broadway Street on the former site of Pi on Broadway, will host the grand opening celebration on Thursday, September 7, from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
The event will feature a live performance from Propaganjah, a band that describes its sound as “Soul and R&B filled Caribbean reggae with a heavy edge.” General admission tickets are available online and cost $15.
District Bar and Kitchen is a 6,700-square-foot restaurant and bar that can accommodate over 200 guests and features a second floor terrace overlooking Brick City.
The kitchen serves dinner on Monday through Saturday. Diners can start their meals with a variety of appetizers that include “shake and bake” wings, grilled cheese bites, rueben egg rolls, grouper tacos, corn flake tenders, and poke tuna nachos. There are also several salads to choose from as well as homemade tomato soup.
The menu offers four different Detroit-style pizzas: classic pepperoni, margherita, buffalo chicken, and bison and goat cheese.
Additional entrees include steak frites, bourbon salmon, and a variety of burgers and sandwiches such as The District (a brisket and short rib beef blend with American cheese, caramelized onions, roasted garlic aioli, and sweet hotty pickles) and Pig Mac (ground pork, American cheese, a special DBK sauce, iceberg lettuce, and pickles on a sesame seed bun).
Side options include french fries, black truffle Parmesan fries, collard greens, deep fried Brussel sprouts, and cheesy grits.
On Saturdays and Sundays, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the kitchen also serves brunch. Meal options include smoked salmon lox, millionaire’s bacon, shrimp and grits, french toast, salmon omelets, steak and eggs, and sausage gravy pizza, to list a few choices.
Diners can wash down their brunch with a mimosa or cocktail.

The venue’s hours of operation are as follows: Monday through Wednesday (4 p.m. to 10 p.m.), Thursday (11 a.m. to 11 p.m.), Friday and Saturday (11 a.m. to 2 a.m.), and Sunday (11 a.m. to 4 p.m.). The kitchen will remain open until an hour before closing.
