An Ocala singer may be featured during this weekend’s installment of American Idol, which is the last episode of the first round of the singing competition.
Emery Robbins is one of around 20 singers who may be profiled on the next episode of the popular series, which airs on ABC at 8 p.m. EST on Sunday, March 24.
In December, the young artist took to social media to share photos of his audition for the show.
“I am honored to announce that I will be auditioning for Luke Bryan, Katy Perry, and Lionel Richie on the 22nd season of American Idol,” reads a post from Robbins’ Instagram page.
In the months since that announcement, Robbins has been alluding to a possible appearance through social media posts:
On Tuesday, Robbins posted a song to his social media in thanks for the support he’s “received during the past few months.”
According to multiple websites that aggregate information about the show, the fifth episode of American Idol should be the final episode before the competition transitions to Hollywood, which is where the second round takes place.
Robbins may be featured in this weekend’s episode along with approximately 19 other singers.
The show, which is in its 22nd season, premiered on February 18. Since then, four episodes have aired over the past four Sundays. In each episode, at least a dozen contestants have been featured and passed through.
