Harry Leroy Shaub Jr.

Harry (Mickey) Leroy Shaub, Jr., 88, of Ocala, FL went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, February 29, 2024 with his son and daughter present at Cate’s House Hospice of Marion County.
He was born on October 24, 1935 in Colerain Township, Pennsylvania, son of the late Harry Leroy Shaub, Sr. and Ola Shuler Shaub. Harry, also known as Mickey, grew up in Kirkwood, Pennsylvania and graduated from Solanco High School in 1953. He went on to enlist in the United States Army in 1954 where he served in the 69th Signal Battalion as a cryptographer. After his time in the Army, he learned the trades of meat cutting and masonry. He worked as a meat cutter at Ferguson Hassler in Pennsylvania and at Publix in south Florida. After moving to Ocala, Florida, Mickey worked as a mason. He eventually owned and operated a successful masonry business until he retired.
Mickey was a Christian and attended Ocala First Assembly of God for many years. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, helping others, and spending time with his family and friends.
Mickey is survived by his son, Robert Shaub, Sr. and his wife, Teresa Shaub of Ocala, FL; daughter Katherine Shaub Nick and her husband, Mark Nick of Ocala, FL; his grandchildren Robert Shaub, Jr., Michael Shaub and his wife, Lauren, Ashley Shaub, Sophia Nick, and Jessa Nick, and his great granddaughters Edyn, Selah, Farrah, Hollyn, and Sutton Shaub. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Mary Lou Shaub, his niece Faye and her husband Mike Omensetter, and nephew Michael Shaub and his wife Tami. Mickey is preceded in death by his father Harry Leroy Shaub, Sr., his mother Ola Shaub, and his brother Fount Shaub. Mickey will be remembered by those he loved for his kind, quiet nature, and his helpful and giving heart.
The grave side services will be held at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL on March 29, 2024 @ 2:30pm sharp. It is highly recommended that you arrive by 2:00pm if you are attending. Once arriving, the cemetery will give directions on what to do. The address and directions are the following: 6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, FL 33513-8914. Directions: Driving from either the north or the south on Interstate I-75, Exit 309 (Webster), which places you on county road 476B West. Cemetery is on the left about 1 mile.
