The first buildings have been erected at a new townhome community in southwest Ocala.
D.R. Horton, a company that bills itself as the nation’s largest home builder, is currently in the midst of constructing the townhouses in its new The Towns at Laurel Commons community, which is located directly off SW State Road 200, near the intersection of SW 80th Street.
The community is tucked behind a future retail plaza, and it will feature 1,458-square-foot, 2-story townhouses with 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, and a 1-car garage.
Each home will have an “open concept downstairs” that includes an open kitchen, powder room, and large family room that overlooks a patio. The second floor will include a laundry area in addition to the bedrooms and bathrooms, according to the developer.
In addition, each home will come with a stainless-steel appliance package, granite countertops, and ceramic tile extended throughout the main living areas.
The developer states that there will also be an amenity center with a pool and club house.
Residents of the upcoming community will be within a 10-to-20-minute drive of grocery stores; entertainment options that include the World Equestrian Center, nearby golf courses, nature trails, and parks; shopping centers; and medical facilities including the HCA Florida West Marion Hospital and Ocala VA Clinic.
Several schools are located near the community, including Hammett Bowen Elementary School, Liberty Middle School, and West Port High School.
According to the developer, information on the pricing of the 1,458-square-foot townhouses is “coming soon.”
