The City of Ocala is moving this Saturday’s final community meeting for the “Vision 2050” plan to an indoor location due to the potential for inclement weather.
The community meeting will now take place on Saturday, March 2, from noon to 2 p.m. in the lobby of City Hall (110 SE Watula Avenue). This event was originally scheduled to take place outdoors at Citizens’ Circle.
According to the city, the Vision 2050 plan serves as a roadmap for the future and is built upon community consensus to promote continued support and implementation of projects over time. Once established, the vision document will act as the basis for updating the comprehensive plan.
“Citizens are welcome to join throughout the duration of the event and are not committed to the full two hours,” stated the city on social media.
During the event, stations will be set up to facilitate citizen feedback in key areas such as public and open spaces, mobility and connectivity, land use and housing, and gateways. This setup will allow for active participation and input from citizens on various aspects of community development and planning.
A survey is available online for those who are unable to attend the meeting in person, and it will remain open for feedback until Friday, April 5.
