‘Autumn Equinox’ art exhibit now open at Ocala City Hall

A new exhibit by artist Chelsea Rae Cantrell is now open in Ocala.

Located on the first and second floor inside Ocala City Hall (110 SE Watula Avenue in Ocala), the exhibit, “Autumn Equinox,” can be viewed on Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Cantrell is a Gainesville-based fine artist and a lecturer in Digital Arts and Sciences at the University of Florida, College of the Arts.

According to Ocala Cultural Arts, Autumn Equinox is a continuation of Cantrell’s exploration of cyanotype photography and printmaking. While creating the artwork for the exhibit, Cantrell utilized natural methods such as sunlight for UV exposure and collected rainwater for rinsing away chemicals.

The free exhibit will remain on display through April 8, 2024, and the artworks are available for purchase.

For more information, contact the City of Ocala Cultural Arts Division via phone (352-629-8447) or email (artinfo@ocalafl.org); or visit Ocala’s Art in City Spaces website.
