A 66-year-old woman was arrested in the death of a motorcyclist Wednesday evening in Brevard County.
Treasure Deal, 66, of Barefoot Bay was driving a 2004 Ford SUV westbound on Micco Road, while 50-year-old Jorge Rivera of Palm Bay was driving a 2014 Harley-Davidson motorcycle eastbound on Micco Road, according to a Florida Highway Patrol accident report. As Deal attempted to make a left turn, to travel south onto Brown Road, she traveled into the direct path of Rivera’s motorcycle, the report stated. The front of Rivera’s motorcycle struck the right side of Deal’s vehicle, ejecting him from the motorcycle.
Deal was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence manslaughter. Her passenger, Barney Lynch, 56, of Barefoot Bay was also arrested when it was discovered he was wanted on a warrant out of Wisconsin.
The crash remains under investigation.
