The Early Learning Coalition of Marion County (ELCMC) is hosting a free Pinwheels for Prevention event this weekend at the Paddock Mall.
The family event will take place on Saturday, April 15, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Paddock Mall, which is located at 3100 SW College Road in Ocala. In addition to providing free resources for parents, the event will include a children’s activity area with free face painting, live entertainment, and free children’s books while supplies last.
April is recognized as National Child Abuse Prevention month. The Pinwheels for Prevention campaign promotes working together to strengthen families in order to prevent child abuse and neglect before it happens.
According to ELCMC, its Success By 6 program is a unique partnership with the United Way of Marion County that works to ensure that all children in Marion County are safe, healthy, eager to learn, and ready to succeed by the time they enter school.
ELCMC provides families with access to quality early learning programs that nurture children’s learning potential while preparing them for their educational success. The coalition’s mission is to provide leadership and foster partnerships to optimize a quality early learning environment for Marion County’s children through child care, voluntary pre-kindergarten, and parent education.
