HCA Florida Ocala Hospital’s new 11,000-square-foot freestanding emergency room is now open.
Located at 4361 NW Blitchton Road in Ocala, on the west side of Highway 27, HCA Florida Foxwood Emergency provides a full range of medical services for children and adults.
The new state-of-the-art ER will be open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The facility will be staffed with board-certified emergency medicine physicians and nurses, just like an emergency room inside a hospital, and they will treat a range of general and specific conditions including infections, chest pain, and broken bones.
“Whether you’re visiting the World Equestrian Center or are a long-time resident in the Farmland Preservation Area, we care like family and we will be here when you need us,” stated Alan Keesee, HCA Florida Ocala Hospital CEO. “This emergency room is near Ocala Preserve, where retirees spend their golden years and deserve to have access to swift, compassionate care.”
Designed to meet the community’s growing health care needs, HCA Florida Foxwood Emergency features:
- A separate pediatric entrance and waiting area.
- 11 private treatment rooms.
- CT capabilities.
- Digital ultrasounds.
- Digital diagnostic and portable X-rays.
- An on-site laboratory.
- Telemedicine technology with a specific focus on stroke care and behavioral health.
The $11 million freestanding emergency room is expected to serve over 10,000 patients a year while employing approximately 45 full-time healthcare professionals with additional staff, according to HCA Florida Healthcare.
HCA Florida Foxwood Emergency is the fifth freestanding emergency room for HCA Florida Ocala Hospital.
