The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a homicide investigation after two bodies were found in southeast Ocala on Sunday morning.
At around 11 a.m. on Sunday, October 15, MCSO deputies responded to a home in the Whispering Sands neighborhood due to a “suspicious incident,” according to the sheriff’s office.
Upon arrival at the home, deputies located the bodies of two victims, a man and woman. MCSO stated that both victims had sustained gunshot wounds.
Detectives from the MCSO Major Crimes unit arrived on scene and are actively investigating the double homicide. No further details were provided by the sheriff’s office.
“We are asking the public for help,” stated MCSO in a social media post.
